IMPORTANT: The Civil Air Patrol has transitioned from the Battle Dress Uniform to the Airman Battle Uniform.  Dress Blues remain the same.  Read the official ABU regulations here.

Civil Air Patrol cadets wear and maintain two Air Force style uniforms with CAP distinctions: Airman Battle Uniform and Dress Blue Uniforms. These uniforms are a highly-respected symbol of honor and dignity, as they are uniforms of the United States Air Force. In order to properly display and respect these uniforms, an adherence to a "dress code" is required. These including things such as jewelry, grooming, and appropriate times to wear these uniforms.

Information regarding the proper wear of uniforms is outlined in CAP Manual 39-1
